DID YOU KNOW...



These facts about the beautiful flowering dogwood tree?
  • Latin name - cornus florida
  • State tree of Missouri
  • Characterized by 4 large 'bracts' - commonly misnamed 'petals'
  • Flowers open in the spring and last 2-4 weeks, followed by bright green leaves
  • Best time to prune is in spring, right after the blossoms fall
The dogwoods in our area are currently in bloom so be sure to enjoy the flowers while you can!
