ODWALLA'S PLANT A TREE PROGRAM
Today at Treehugger is a great article which outlines Odwalla's 2009 Plant A Tree Program. Odwalla, the maker of healthy juice and snack products, is a company that is dedicated to doing eco-friendly and socially responsible things for the community. In 2009 Odwalla will donate $100,000 to plant trees in State Parks across the U.S. You can do your part by clicking here.

SAMPSON
Our 150+ pound English Mastiff loves an afternoon spent in the sun, enjoying one of his favorite things - a stick (of course!). Sampson is a regular member of the crew at Retelle Tree, and our residential mascot. He is one of the goofiest and most lovable dogs we know.

- Latin name - cornus florida
- State tree of Missouri
- Characterized by 4 large 'bracts' - commonly misnamed 'petals'
- Flowers open in the spring and last 2-4 weeks, followed by bright green leaves
- Best time to prune is in spring, right after the blossoms fall
The dogwoods in our area are currently in bloom so be sure to enjoy the flowers while you can!

RESCUED SEA TURTLES
Here is a story to brighten your day - Boston.com did a feature yesterday about nine sea turtles that were rescued off the coast of Cape Cod. They were recently returned to warmer waters in Georgia after two New England Aquarium marine biologists spent 20 hours driving the turtles southward. To read the full article, click here.
